For over 90 years, the Porro family has been creating modular systems and furnishings recognizable for the simple geometries and a meticulous attention for finishes and details, where the traditional craftsmanship of the past meets the most advanced production technologies, giving life to high quality projects. Porro production is still 100% Made in Italy and is the result of strong investments in research and development. Important traditions in the history of furniture, such as carving, curved wood, inlay, which the company has been able to bring back to light and reinterpret in a modern and abstract vision, coexist with unique technologies, some of which are patented, to give even more consistency and value to the identity of the product.

Porro unveils this double line of research that often intertwines and coexists in the same object through the most iconic products of its contemporary era, designed in the 30 years of Piero Lissoni’s art direction. In the exhibition area, the rosso antico Metallico table enchants for the particular surface finishing obtained through a high thickness catalyzed painting, followed by subsequent phases of polishing and waxing done by hand, to bring out a vibrant color, with a play of lights and shadows reminiscent of oil painting. Its design is characterized by the lightness of the top and legs, made of a 12 mm thick solid aluminum sheet. The refined detail of the connection between legs and top the enforced technology used that allows to provide for rigorous lines and controlled thickness.

It is accompanied by Voyage chair with precise contours that draws inspiration from typical 1950s furniture, consisting of an exposed framework in tapered solid maple, with a leather covering that fits perfectly on the structure and gives shape to a very comfortable and ergonomic backrest and seat.

Designed for storing and displaying rich collections, Ex-Libris glass cabinet is precious at the sight and touch as well. The glass sides and backdrops and the black painted aluminum uprights provide an industrial aesthetics embellished by the sophisticated finishing chosen for the base and the top in black sugi melamine, a dark wood texture with marked veins, to caress with your hands.

In the info point, the Ryoba table with its brass-anodized aluminum legs and black-stained European cherry wood top pays tribute to the naturalness of the materials and the beauty of imperfection. The triangular section legs with an important thickness create an easel on which the material top rests, 3 solid boards each one different from the other , carefully selected by the master cabinetmaker. The proportions of the table, narrow and long to match the natural size of the trunks, invite to a new intimate conviviality, while the exposed cracks and tiled knots underline the poetry of this beautiful traditional wood, which takes on new life and becomes contemporary.

Of course the Neve chair in black-stained ash with rigorous but soft lines, astonishes for the frame of clear lines of different thicknesses, softened by the roundness of the spindle legs and the soft curvature of the backrest and suspended seat. Verde spring, verde muschio and giallo zolfo Sidewall vertical bookcases act as practical containers, choosing just some of the brilliant lacquers of the Porro’s palette, to obtain the favorite mood.

To complement the main exhibition, Giulio Cappellini will curated the “Take a Seat” exhibition, a satellite showcase paying homage to those who have shaped the history of seating design. Here it will be exposed Ghiaccio low and comfortable armchair, enriched by a fabric soft cushion. Ghiaccio stems from the great success of the Neve chair, thus recalling its contours. Rounded lines of shaped legs follow the back and arm bending, matched to the more regular upholstered seat shape, making it ideal beside the fireplace, for an object of desire that offers new point of view on the world.
